Sereer

It's the dry season, and the peanuts have all been harvested. I have been practicing with my buddies for many weeks now. Surely one of us from our village will make it to the finals or even to the championship and make our village proud. It's more than just having good wrestling skills; it's making sure that my spirits block the evil spirits of my opponent. Of course, it will cost me a chicken and some money for the sacrifice, but it will be well worth it. With the magic cord I wear around my waist when I wrestle, no one will be able to defeat me.
