The heartbreak of AIDS may be the first thing that comes to mind when Sub-Saharan African peoples are mentioned. And it is true that AIDS, other diseases and poverty-related problems are major concerns for these peoples.
But parts of Africa boast a vibrant and growing Christian presence that is flooding these peoples with hope.
Sadly, there are millions of others who have yet to be reached with the Gospel. In fact, over 50% of Sub-Saharan African peoples are considered unreached. For some, extremely rough terrain physically hinders their access to Truth. Others are blinded by false religions or the problems of daily life.
You can help make sure all the peoples of Sub-Saharan Africa have access to the Gospel.

Feature Story
Bound by Myths
MBABANE, Swaziland (BP)--A 7-year-boy in a ragged gray shirt, with scabby knees and scuffed shoes, sits on a grass mat. He is listening intently to a presentation assuring him that the disease in his body is not his fault, an ancestor’s ire, or demon possession. He has heard all these reasons for his suffering from various elders. He has even been warned not to visit a clinic or accept antiretroviral (ARV) medication, or he will die.
The presentation, however, tells him that his HIV is the work of a microscopic being, contracted in his mother’s womb, and the ARVs will ensure him a fairly normal life if he faithfully takes them. This is probably the first time he has heard this information, cutting across tradition, superstition and syncretism.
A Dying Nation
Swaziland may quickly perish if nothing is done to combat the superstitions and lies about HIV/AIDS.
